Final Exam Frenzy - Art

You've watched enough anime to be familiar with the trope of the impossibly gorgeous, refined senior girl, dressed elegantly in her long skirt and uttering a "Gokigenyou" that takes your breath away. That's all you thought it was, a trope, until you saw Murasaki-dono. How can a girl just a year or two older than you look like she just walked out of Vogue? Not only that, she's the most talented artist in the school; she has a permanent exhibit at the local art museum. You'd be envious, but it would be like being envious of a goddess. She is to be worshiped, adored, given tribute to. She raises her eyebrows slightly (and elegantly, oh so elegantly) at your presented gifts of wine and a baby lamb. She politely thanks you but assures you she does not need such offerings to help you with your art exam.

How to Play

It's often said, especially in art, that to break the rules, you must first master them. In fact, many animators intensely study anatomy and works by master artists first, and then use the knowledge gained from this to create the outlandish character designs and settings we often see in anime. Sometimes they even reference these famous artists directly!

Five such references are listed below. In the right column are images from different anime series that parody a real, well known painting, while the left column lists the names of the artists who painted them. You will need to match the name of the artist from the first column (1-5) with the image referencing their painting from the second column (A-E). You will also need to tell me the titles of the famous paintings being referenced. Each correct answer will be worth 1 mark, for a maximum possible total of 5 marks towards your overall final average.
