Happy Halloween!! :)

Super late again but thank you again!! You spoil me as always. ;_; Halloween went really well! Almost too well - we nearly ran out of candy! I made 144 goodie bags and gave all of them out. Luckily we had some candy left over from making the bags, but we almost ran out of that too. All told we probably had around 175 kids come, which is pretty insane. Next year I might have to make 200 bags, god help me. But yeah, Halloween was definitely a success! The election, not so much haha... orz

And yeah, I'm trying to take it easy here through Christmas and relax so that I'm ready to go in January. The calm before the storm, so to speak. I hope everything keeps being chill for you! That way in the new year I can look up from my desk drowned in paperwork and say, "Man, this sucks, but I know Kaede is doing well!!"

It sounds so surreal to have so many people but I understand if it's to get a handmade goodie bag, that's really charming. Oh god I wish I could telepathically send help to you over then, I pray for your hands when that time rolls around 8^( and OTL watching the elections was stressful enough as a foreigner I cannot imagine what it is like for people actually in the country...I hope you're safe where you are.

Rest up those engines!! SAME TO YOU TOO I hope the clutches of endless documentations are manageable or the school at least has it more spread out then...

One of these days I'm going to be able to reply to you in a timely manner lmao. But oh man, the amount of candy I put in these bags is kind of ridiculous. Here's everything all spread out on the kitchen table (sorry for the ratty chairs lmao). There's one each of Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, Kit Kat, Reese's, Take 5, Crunch, Heath, 100 Grand, Baby Ruth, Hershey's, Hershey's Cookies & Cream, Payday, M&Ms, York Peppermint Patty, Nerds, Riesen, Caramel Apple suckers, Airheads, and Caramel Creams; and two each of Starburst, Twizzlers, Warheads, Jolly Ranchers, Atomic Fireballs, Double Bubble gum, and Werther's. Whew! lol That red tub on the right held about half of the bags. I wouldn't be surprised if our house has gotten a reputation for giving out lots of candy and that's why the number of trick-or-treaters has grown the last few years. Other houses might try to out-decorate us, but I dare someone to out-candy us haha. Not that I would actually mind, though; the more people really getting into the Halloween spirit, the better. Can you tell I'm kinda obsessed? lol

Oh god the election. Forgive my countrymen; they know not what they do. God knows Hillary had her problems (a lot of them, imo - not a big fan) but Trump is on a whole different level. I thought living through 8 years of Dubya was bad enough, but this? I can only pray that the checks and balances we have in place will be able to mitigate whatever damage he causes. I don't know how much you guys will be affected in your corner of the world, but I apologize in advance for whatever might happen.

And wow, sure, I'd love that! You mean a physical card, right? That'd be awesome! Could I send you one too? I've never mailed anything internationally before, but I'm sure I could figure it out lol. :)

Right?? We nearly overloaded the shopping cart this year. I always feel bad for the poor cashier who has to ring us up, but we try to keep all the bags of the same type together to make it easier for them. I think the last year I trick-or-treated myself was when I was 11 or 12? I would actually love to go around the neighborhood Halloween night, not to trick-or-treat but just to see what all everybody else has up for decorations and stuff. But I'm always so busy at my own house that there's just no way to do that!

Oh god, yes, so true. I mean we have 300 million people in this country; you'd think we could find *somebody* suitable?? And while I'm not quite as worried about Trump as some people are (I do have a little - hopefully not misguided - faith in the actual workings of government keeping him in check), I am worried about the guy's hardcore followers. As a country I know we've always had fringe wingnuts, like the whole Tea Party movement 5-6 years ago. But we're talking basically straight up neo-Nazis here, *emboldened* ones at that - there's no reasoning with them. Disturbing.

It sounds like pretty good business for their outlets huhu. That must've been quite a while ago whoa, but it really sounds a shame to miss out on seeing the other houses 8^( It would be nice if the luxury of time was a thing we could have. I wonder if anyone posts photos?

Reality truly is stranger than fiction for better or for worse, hoo boy. Oh man I've seen some news regarding that, it's really !?!? to see people so intent on the kind of cause they're pursuing...just. How did you end up thinking like that.

Haha yep, I'm sure Target loved me this year since that was where I bought most of my candy. My wallet sure didn't love me though. orz I don't know if people post pics of their houses, though I do notice some people taking pictures of our house when they come by with their kids. lol our house could be all over somebody's Facebook and I wouldn't even know - that's kind of weird when you think about it??

Exactly! I can only imagine the poison some of these people were exposed to in their lives to come out with those thoughts. Not to absolve them of responsibility of course, but it starts somewhere.

YOUR DEVOTION TO MAKING THE BEST CANDY BAGS IS A THING TO BE FEARED...my prayers for your wallet to flourish into 2017. omg and they could be posting pics of your treats along with it, probably with stuff like check out this sweet haul I got at this cool-looking place. Maybe one day a post like that could even pop up in your feed! Kind of surreal how simultaneously big and small the world is.

Hopefully time helps them with their way of thinking, or they'll just end up taking it to their grave...and ty!! /o/
